What: A meeting for residential school class members to discuss settlement, legal fees, and the right to object. Discussion will be followed by a question and answer period.

When: 11 a.m. – 1:00 pm on Saturday July 16th, 2016

Where: The Rocket Room, 272 Water Street, St. John’s

Background: The Government of Canada and survivors of Newfoundland and Labrador residential schools have reached a class action settlement worth over $50 million, subject to court approval. The federal government will pay $50 million into a compensation fund and has agreed to pay an additional amount for healing and commemoration.
